Many of us have heard of or seen the movie The Men of Honor, If you haven't, it is a movie based on the discrimination of one determined soul named Carl Brashear. This brave African American man shows his pride and dignity for his pride and color as he works his way up to pass diving school, the first one in history to even make it passed the gates. Lets take a brief look into the life of the real Carl Brashear.
During an interview with the film director, people were able to ask questions and take a deeper look into the true story of Brashear, It was said that while some of the film was dramatized ( what film isn't) there was a lot of heart and truth behind it. For instance, Brashear did in fact lose his leg and decide to have it amputate it for the fate of his career ahead. "I follow Carl’s life and career, but my goal was to be true to his spirit, not his shirt size" says the film director.
